This page will be used as a resource for those faculty members that attended and for those that missed the In-Service on Understanding Technology in our School and the Integration of Technology into lesson planning.
This first part of the In-Service will occur prior to the school year starting and will be used to help new and experienced teachers learn a little more about using technology and its practical uses in our classroom.
The first section of resources for this In-Service will be about Understanding the Computer and Teacher Resources. I will go over how the differences between desktops and laptops, hooking up the schools LCD projectors to the schools laptops, The basics of Power School and how to use the schools shared network drive or the H: drive. This section will include videos that will recreate or provide reinforcement to the actual In-Service that will occur as well as a centralized location for all documentation that was handed out during the In-Service (cheat sheets, etc.).
The second part will occur within the first few months of school at one of our schools Monday faculty meetings for staff development. I will introduce the topic of using the internet in the classroom and activities that can be done. I will focus on hotlists for the novice computer user and WebQuests for the more advanced user. The once a month Monday in-service is a 2 hour meeting and I will conduct 2 separate, 1 hour sessions in conjunction with another presenter doing another type of in-service.
